Steelers vs. Seahawks: Madden 26 Recap

The Steelers open their 2025-26 campaign with a W. An impressive offensive performance but a worrying defensive showing. Allowing nearly 400 total yards, only one sack, and allowing 50% conversions on third down. But the defense did come up big with an incompletion caused by a big hit from Jalen Ramsey. Even the special teams was clicking with a forced fumble and recovery that got the Steelers a touchdown down by two points and a 60-yard field goal that won them the game by Chris Boswell. So a feel-good victory for Pittsburgh as they travel back home for their opener in Acrisure. And against another team that has history with one of their starters, DK Metcalf, who was traded in the offseason. And just to add a little spice to a dish that already is smoking, it’s a Super Bowl rematch! Super Bowl XL, over the years, has been described as one of the most controversial games in history with the officials making questionable calls in big moments that gave the Steelers the edge and their fifth Super Bowl title, making Seattle have to wait nearly another decade to finally win their first championship. And also add the fact that in history, the Steelers-Seahawks series is TIED at 10-10. The Steelers have won the last two games but NONE of the teams have EVER won two in a row. All that built together makes for a must-see game!
But how does Madden 26 think it will play out?
Final Game Result:
Steelers 19 - Seahawks 46
Ouch. That was a rough game to watch. Aaron Rodgers was the ONLY form of offense but even he struggled! Three thrown interceptions, 18 first downs to Seattle’s 31, no 100-yard receivers with the most was Pat Freiermuth’s 75 yards off 7 receptions. But if you thought that was bad, don’t even get me started on the run game! Jaylen Warren had the weirdest stat line ever; 11 carries, -12 yards, 2 total TDs (1 rush, 1 receiving). His longest run went for 3 yards but Seattle’s run D was too good. The offensive line couldn’t help in the run nor in the pass as they allowed 3 sacks (2 from Broderick Jones, 1 from Isaac Seumalo).
The Steelers defense tried their best but they’re not miracle workers. Nearly 400 passing yards from Sam Darnold, nearly 75 rushing yards from Kenneth Walker, over 110 receiving yards to Cooper Kupp, and two receiving touchdowns for Jaxon Smith-Njigba. If there is any bright side, the defense got three sacks, one each from TJ Watt, Patrick Queen, and Cameron Heyward. But nothing of note as it was a rough watch.
In the first half, the Steelers only got a field goal and the Seahawks got 16 points. In the second half, the Steelers got 16 points, but Seattle got 30 points! I am glad that it’s just a video game and there’s NO WAY this can happen this Sunday…right? RIGHT?!?!
