Well, that was definitely a game. The Steelers take their first loss of the season with mistakes on all sides of the ball. Two turnovers, three sacks allowed, and 33.3% proficiency on third downs on the offensive side. 31+ points, 100+ rushing yards, and a 6.2 AVG of yards per play on the defensive part. And special teams…who’s idea was it to have Kaleb Johnson as the kick returner? Don’t get me wrong, he has a future in the league, but one position at a time. But nothing we can do now as the Steelers fall 31-17 to former Super Bowl XL foes, the Seattle Seahawks. An even 1-1 record has the Steelers in the third place spot in the AFC North and also a 2-4 record since the beginning of 2020 in the opening game in Pittsburgh. But who will get the warmest welcome back at practice? Let’s go over them!

Honorable Mentions:

WR DK Metcalf - 3 rec, 20 yards, 1 TD

LB Payton Wilson - 9 total tackles, 1 sack

DE Jack Sawyer - 5 total tackles, 1 sack

#3: LB Nick Herbig - 3 total tackles, 1 interception

One of the more underrated linebackers in the league surrounded by some of the greatest linebackers in the league right now. Drafted back in 2023 and making impacts on big plays. Lemme break it down in a rap. Herbig got himself an interception. It was off a Cam Heyward deflection. Returned a yard short of the Seahawks red zone section. Touchdown then two point conversion. Caught by the 6’7 Darnell Washington. Word.

#2: DB Jalen Ramsey - 6 total tackles, 2 pass defenses, 1 interception

Maybe the trade worked? Too early to tell but so far, the trade for Ramsey for Fitzpatrick is working thus far. An interception early in the game and last week, a game-winning pass break-up! Ramsey is working out well for the defensive back group but there’s still improvement to be shown. But this game showed his first interception since week eleven last year. And a good start to the year! Can the defense keep up?

#1: RB Jaylen Warren - 14 carries, 4 receptions, 134 scrimmage yards

RB1, can’t express this any further. He somehow leads this team in rushing AND receiving right now. A good all-around back that for some reason is still splitting carries with Kenneth Gainwell. Gainwell has potential but it’s discrediting the potential and what a feel-good story it would be that the undrafted rookie becomes the star running back on the black and gold. Give Warren more carries, and more plays. World Warren 1.

Next week, an AFC showdown against the 1-1 as well, New England Patriots. The Steelers haven’t beaten New England since 2018, nor have they won in New England in 2008. Brady and Belichick are gone. Don’t live in your fears, run through them!
