Wehner: Ke’Bryan Hayes “The Best Third Baseman I’ve Ever Seen”

Yinzer Crazy • Mar 30, 2021
This week on the Yinzer Crazy Podcast (listen above) former Bucco and current Analyst for AT&T Sports, John Wehner, had some extremely high praise for Pirates rookie third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes.

“I’m not exaggerating, I’m not blowing smoke. I don’t say shit to just say shit. This dude is the best Third Baseman I’ve Ever Seen. Quite Literally," said Rock.

“I don’t see a lot of (Nolan) Arenado or (Matt) Chapman out in Oakland, so in all fairness to them they might be right up there. But Hayes covers so much ground. His footwork is so good, his angles are so good. I’ve yet to see him get a bad hop. He covers ground like a shortstop.”

Hayes, the son of Wehner’s former teammate Charlie Hayes, will once again assume full-time duties over at the hot-corner for the Pirates in 2021. He’s the current favorite to win Rookie of the Year in the National League.

Listen to the Full John Wehner interview above to get more insight as to why he thinks Hayes is likely going to be a star, for a very, very long time in the black and gold.
