Earlier this season, we saw fan-favorite, Andrew McCutchen, slug his 300th career home run. We also saw Bryan Reynolds hit his 100th career home run. Now the Pirates have two active players on their roster who are close to reaching a major milestone of 100 career home runs. These two players were signed to one-year deals this offseason. Let’s take a look at who these players are and how close they are to their milestones.

Rowdy Tellez

Rowdy Tellez has always been known as a power hitter and will finally earn a huge accolade because of it. Tellez currently has 93 career home runs. This season he only has one, but that is soon to change. Tellez has had four seasons where he has hit double-digit home runs. Despite his early season struggles, Tellez is more than likely going to reach this milestone.

Michael A. Taylor

Michael Taylor wasn’t always a big-time power hitter, but he hit over 20 dingers last year. This jumped his career total to 95 career home runs. Taylor has yet to hit a home run this season, but with his recent power numbers, we know that he is due for some. Being only five home runs away, Taylor could get this hit in May if he gets hot.

Keep an eye out for these Pirates who are about to reach big milestones in their careers. They are both on one-year contracts, but they are still a part of the Pirates and we should all be excited for these hits.
